"Creativity is sacred, and it is not sacred.

What we make matters enormously, and it doesn’t matter at all.

We toil alone, and we are accompanied by spirits.

We are terrified, and we are brave.

Art is a crushing chore and a wonderful privilege.

Only when we are at our most playful can divinity finally get serious with us."

~ Elizabeth Gilbert

My artistic aspiration began at an early age, by watching my father who is also an artist. Growing up, life was a riot of color and textures while he dabbled in different media. While I learnt to appreciate art and create from a very early age, it was only when faced with challenges of life did my ability actually come to the fore. To rise above the commonplace, trivialities and petty worries of my daily life lead me to seeking different truths and understanding myself.

While on this journey, and a little push from my mother, I met one of the master craftsmen in one of the temple towns of south India who taught me the ancient and traditional art of Tanjore Painting.  It was through this medium that I found an outlet to demonstrate my deep faith and love of God. Through this I feel, that I am doing my bit in keeping an ancient art form alive.

All this while I continued to experiment, to find my voice in art. I found a truly unique way where my expression found its perfect channel, ink on paper. Inspired by nature and its beauty, for me it’s the small things that matter in this vast circle of life. It is my endeavor not to recreate a moment but capture and depict it in all its glory. The beauty I see around me has been both my strength and my muse.
